The winding country road leading to Son Terrassa gives you your first hint that you’re heading somewhere special. As I pulled into the property, I was immediately struck by the elegant balance of rustic Mallorcan charm and upscale sophistication that defines this adult-only finca in Cas Concos des Cavaller.

It’s like stumbling upon a secret that the island has been keeping from the usual tourist crowds!

Set within expansive grounds with rooms thoughtfully scattered between the main building and separate annexes, Son Terrassa offers that rare combination – authentic rural tranquility with refined luxury touches that make your stay truly memorable.

And trust me, in an island increasingly dominated by large resorts, finding a place this genuine yet polished feels like winning the travel lottery.

The rooms

The accommodation at Son Terrassa elevates the typical agroturismo experience to something truly special. During my stay, I chose the Junior Suite with its incredible balcony offering breathtaking sunset views that became my nightly ritual.

There’s something almost magical about watching the Mallorcan sun sink below the horizon with a glass of local wine in hand – one of those simple travel moments that somehow becomes a core memory!

At 30m², these suites feature a private entrance and either a terrace or panoramic views, creating a sense of exclusive retreat. The king-size bed (seriously, so comfortable I considered asking about the mattress brand!), sofa, and spa bath transformed our room into a luxurious sanctuary after days exploring the island.

I actually found myself looking forward to returning to our room each day – not something I can say about most places I’ve stayed!

Whether you choose a standard room (24m²) with twin beds or king-size options, all come equipped with air conditioning (absolutely essential in Mallorca’s summer heat), flat-screen TVs, minibars, and private bathrooms with spa baths. The thoughtful touches – plush bathrobes that make you feel like you’re in a spa, high-quality toiletries that don’t dry out your skin, and cool marble floors underfoot – reflect the property’s attention to detail and commitment to elevated comfort. It’s these little things that separate the merely good from the truly memorable stays, isn’t it?

Dining and Drinks

Son Terrassa’s restaurant isn’t just good for a hotel restaurant – it’s a destination in itself and so renowned that non-guests drive from across the island just to dine here! This definitely isn’t your typical hotel restaurant where you eat because it’s convenient; it’s a gastronomic experience that demands reservations days in advance (though staying on property gives you a distinct advantage – something to keep in mind!).

The morning begins with a quality barista-style coffee of your choice and freshly prepared eggs made to order – a level of personalization I came to appreciate more each day. There’s something deeply satisfying about starting your morning exactly how you like it, especially when that coffee is genuinely excellent. (I’m a bit of a coffee snob, so trust me on this one!)

But it was the dinner experience that truly captivated me.

The sunset view from the terrace created a dining backdrop so spectacular that it elevated every bite. Watching the sky transform through shades of orange, pink and purple while palm trees silhouetted against the horizon – it’s like the restaurant comes with its own nightly show!

I found myself lingering over meals, savoring both the food and the atmosphere in equal measure.

When we had lunch at the restaurant, we followed the recommendation to try the oven-baked whole turbot, prepared in traditional Mallorquin style. It was easily better than expected – the kind of meal where you find yourself eating more slowly just to make it last longer! Rafa, the friendly and engaging owner, offered numerous off-menu options, showcasing the kitchen’s specialty: exceptionally fresh seafood. While they serve excellent grilled meats and oven-roasted lamb, trust me – stick to the seafood and you won’t be disappointed. I’m still dreaming about that turbot!

Wellness and Relaxation

The pool area at Son Terrassa deserves special mention. Tucked away at the back of the grounds, it offers a level of seclusion that makes it feel like your private oasis. Comfortable sunbeds sheltered by rustic straw structures provide perfect spots to hide from the midday sun (which, let me tell you, can be intense!) while enjoying views of graceful palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze.

What made these moments truly special was the exceptional cocktail service available throughout the day. The bartenders craft drinks with the same attention to detail found throughout the property – whether enjoying a perfectly made coffee in the morning or sipping a creative cocktail in the afternoon heat, the quality was consistently impressive. I became particularly fond of their gin selections, which perfectly complemented those lazy pool afternoons.

Some might find the atmosphere almost too calm (if you’re looking for pool games and music, this isn’t your place), but for me, watching those palm trees move with the breeze while lounging poolside with a drink in hand represented the perfect counterbalance to Mallorca’s more energetic attractions.

There were moments by that pool where I felt so completely relaxed that I nearly forgot to check my phone – and isn’t that the ultimate vacation achievement?

Son Terrassa offers several curated experiences that take your stay from great to unforgettable. Guests can arrange sailboat visits to spectacular hidden coves and beaches (seeing Mallorca from the water gives you a completely different perspective!), horseback riding through the countryside, or even hot air balloon flights that provide breathtaking views of the island’s diverse landscapes.

or golf enthusiasts, the property is just 6km from Vall d’Or golf course, with hotel guests receiving a 10% discount (always nice to save a bit, right?). Bicycle rentals are also available for those wanting to explore the surrounding landscapes at a gentler pace, with organized excursions and routes available for all levels. I’m not much of a cyclist myself, but even I was tempted by the beautiful country roads surrounding the property!
