Toulouse Loves Brunch (And So Do I)
If you’re new to Toulouse, let me warn you: we really, really love brunch. These places fill up fast, lines are normal, and if you don’t book, you’ll probably end up waiting with a coffee in hand. That’s just how it is here.
And here’s another little local quirk: in France, the line between a salon de thé (tea room) and a brunch café is pretty blurry. Brunch is officially meant to be eaten in the late morning, with both sweet and salty plates (think pancakes and avocado toast). A salon de thé, meanwhile, will happily serve you quiche with salad and a slice of cake… all day long. So yes, it often feels the same.
One last thing before we dive in: menus here work in two ways. A formule is a set that usually includes a hot drink (coffee, tea, chai), a cold drink (juice), one salty plate and one sweet plate. À la carte means you pick and pay separately.
Since I live here, I’ve tried just about every brunch spot in town at least once. Some I go back to again and again, some I’d only recommend for the photos, and some are perfect for a very specific kind of brunch mood.
Here’s my list of 20+ brunches in Toulouse, with all the details you actually need. Spoiler: my current favourite is La Fiancée by Saint-Sernin.
PLANNING A TRIP TO TOULOUSE, IN SHORT

Where to stay
best for eco-solo travelling: Residhome Toulouse Ponts Jumeaux
best for couples: Mercure Toulouse Centre Saint-Georges, Mama Shelter
best for families: Aparthotel Adagio Original Toulouse Centre La Grave
best for luxury: Ibis Styles Toulouse Capitole
view that doesn’t break the bank: Hôtel St Sernin
splurge like a star: Boutique Hotel SOCLO (they have on of the best brunches in Toulouse but you have to book 2 months in advance)

Must see & hidden gem
not to miss:
Couvent des Jacobins
Quai de la Duarade
Basilique St Sernin
and the Place de Capitole, of course!
hidden gem:
Bapz

This is probably the most famous brunch spot in Toulouse, and for good reason. Bapz is like stepping into an English living room, complete with vintage armchairs, little sofas, and mismatched tea cups. Their brunch is inspired by English breakfasts — beans, fried eggs, fluffy brioche bread — and the desserts are beautiful (and delicious).
It’s cosy, warm, and always busy. In the morning, it’s brunch; in the afternoon, it transforms into a salon de thé.
- Price: €25 per person (formule)
- Booking: Yes — they take reservations, and you’ll need one
- Address: 13 Rue de la Bourse, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Even if you book, you’ll usually wait a bit in line. Consider it part of the Bapz experience.
Le Café Cerise

Perfectly located just by the Garonne, Café Cerise is popular for its colourful plates and excellent coffee. They even sell their beans, so you can bring some home.
Now, here’s the catch: the terrace looks tempting, but it faces the road, so instead of river views, you mostly see cars. I actually prefer the inside, which is cute even if not especially cosy.
- Price: €22 (formule)
- Booking: They don’t take reservations
- Address: 4 Quai de la Daurade, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Skip the terrace and sit inside. Then buy a bag of their coffee to enjoy at home.
Perlette

If you like floral decoration and pastel vibes, Perlette is your spot. They have several locations in Toulouse, but I like the one on Place de la Bourse. Think colourful walls, fake flowers everywhere, and a very Instagram-friendly setup (don’t look too close though, you’ll see the plastic 😂).
In the mornings, they serve brunch. After noon, it’s more poke bowls, salads, and pastries. The Sunday brunch menu is the most complete, but you’ll always find salty and sweet plates available during the week.
- Price: €27 for a full brunch, or order salty/sweet plates separately
- Booking: Yes, especially on weekends
- Address: 2 Place de la Bourse, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Great for photos, but for me, the food is good rather than mind-blowing.
La Ville Rose Café

The name says it all: everything here is pink. Walls, flowers, cups, cakes. It’s clearly a wink at Toulouse’s nickname, La Ville Rose.
But let’s be honest: this is a café you go to for the Instagram shots, not the food. The quality isn’t amazing, but if you want a pink latte in a pink cup against a pink wall, this is your place.
- Price: À la carte only
- Booking: No need to reserve
- Address: Right in front of the train station
💡 Local note: Come here for the vibe, not for the taste.

Salon Cacao’T

If you love chocolate, this is heaven. An elegant salon de thé with rich hot chocolate that’s thick, velvety, and easily the best in Toulouse. They also serve brunch, but honestly, the star here is the chocolate.
The interior feels refined without being stuffy, and it’s the perfect stop after shopping in the city centre. Bonus: it’s right by Primark, which (surprisingly) is in one of the most beautiful buildings in town — complete with an old wooden staircase worth seeing.
- Price: €22
- Booking: No need to book
- Address: 21 Rue Charles de Rémusat, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Come for brunch, stay for the hot chocolate.
Le Troquet Garonne

This is my pick for summer brunches. The terrace is cosy, filled with plants and colour, while the inside keeps that warm, relaxed vibe.
Their brunch formula is a bit different: you get a sweet buffet (cakes, pastries, fruit — as much as you want) plus one salty plate of your choice, served at the table. I once chose a burger as my salty plate, which was great, but I’ll admit I’m more of an avocado-toast-for-brunch kind of person.
- Price: €31 per adult
- Booking: Yes, you need to book ahead
- Address: 132 Avenue de Muret, 31300 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Only available on Sundays. The rest of the week it’s a normal restaurant.
Allegory Café
This is one of my favourites. Allegory is all about brunch, and they serve it all week long. The interior has two vibes: upstairs feels like a chic Parisian café, while downstairs has Toulouse charm with exposed red brick walls.
Their brunch menu is complete and generous — coffee or hot drink, juice, one sweet plate, and one salty plate, all for €25. You can also order à la carte if you prefer.
- Price: €25 per menu
- Booking: No need, but expect a wait (Google even says it’s closed, but I was just there last month — it’s open!)
- Address: 9 Rue Peyras, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Be patient if you arrive at peak times. It’s worth the wait.
Au Grimoire

A Harry Potter–themed café just outside Toulouse, in Labège. The décor is fun — wizard-inspired, with magical details everywhere. The food leans more salon de thé than true brunch, with salty plates and cakes.
- Price: À la carte
- Booking: Not required
- Address: 172 Rue Charles Bourseul, 31670 Labège
💡 Local note: You’ll need a car to get here. Worth it if you’re a Potterhead.
Blossom Coffee

Known for their fluffy Japanese-style pancakes that wobble when you poke them. Blossom’s plates are colourful and beautifully presented, and it’s right in front of Saint-Sernin Basilica — one of Toulouse’s icons.
The interior is small, so the experience depends a lot on where you sit. My favourite spot is upstairs by the window. The terrace is also cute.
- Price: €26 for a formule brunch; à la carte also available
- Address: 11 Rue des Trois Renards, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Go early if you want one of the window seats upstairs.
La Fiancée (Rue Peyrolières)

Tucked between La Daurade and Place du Capitole, this La Fiancée has an adorable interior with a mezzanine that makes it feel cosy but stylish. The coffee here is excellent, and the brunch plates are exactly what I picture when I think “classic brunch”: avocado toast, bacon, eggs, the works.
- Price: À la carte only (no complete formule)
- Booking: Not needed, but it can fill up
- Address: 54 Rue Peyrolières, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: A solid choice if you’re looking for a typical, no-fuss brunch in the centre.
La Fiancée (Place Saint-Sernin)

This is my current favourite brunch in Toulouse. It’s a small place inside, but the terrace… wow. Sitting outside with a view of the Saint-Sernin Basilica feels like a privilege, especially on sunny days.
The quality of the food is excellent. I had an avocado toast with feta, tomatoes, and oven-roasted peaches — and I still think about it. Expect to wait about 30–45 minutes for a table, but honestly, it’s worth it.
- Price: À la carte
- Booking: No bookings, just queue
- Address: 9 Place Saint-Sernin, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Queue up, grab a coffee while you wait, and stay patient — this terrace is one of the best brunch spots in the city.
Le Bol Bu

A different kind of brunch in Toulouse, inspired by Indian cuisine. The interior is warm and inviting, and this is also where I had the best chai latte of my life — no exaggeration.
- Price: À la carte
- Address: Rue du May, Toulouse
💡 Local note: Come if you’re ready to try something less typical. The chai alone is worth it.
Sunside Café
Incredible location just by Les Carmes market. Their terrace is on a sunny little square where you can watch local life unfold — it’s pure Toulouse charm. The interior feels more like a bar, but outside is perfect.
Food-wise, Sunside delivers generous plates, great smoothies, and fresh juices. They’re also one of the rare places in Toulouse where you can get an açaí bowl.
- Price: À la carte
- Booking: No need to book
- Address: 3 Place des Carmes, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Grab a spot outside on market day. It’s the best way to soak in the neighbourhood vibe.
Sixta
Sixta is a vegetarian brunch spot (with vegan options) that doubles as a napping café — yes, you can literally rent a space to rest for half an hour. The décor is cosy, the atmosphere lively, and the food is original compared to the more classic brunches in town.
It can get noisy, but if you don’t mind a bit of energy around you, it’s a fun place.
- Price: €26 for Saturday brunch; à la carte the rest of the week
- Address: 28 Rue de Bayard, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Go on a Saturday if you want the full brunch menu.
Brunch Club

A newer addition to the Toulouse brunch scene. The interior is stylish, with a modern, café-lounge vibe. Portions are generous (always a win), and their pastries are delicious. Its location near the Capitole makes it an easy stop while exploring the city.
- Price: À la carte
- Address: 24 Rue Léon Gambetta, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Great central option if you don’t want to plan ahead — brunch is served all week.
Café Perle

One of the smallest brunch places in Toulouse — but also one of the best. Café Perle has a tiny interior, but its terrace is set on one of my favourite streets in the city. When the weather is good, it’s the perfect spot.
The food is top quality, simple but very well done. It’s often listed among the “best brunches in Toulouse,” and I’d agree. We even ate outside here in February once, bundled up in coats, and it was still lovely.
- Price: €26 (formule), brunch only on Saturday and Sunday
- Booking: No bookings
- Address: 8 Rue Léon Gambetta, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Best when you can sit outside. Go early, the terrace fills quickly.
Trois Sœurs La Suite

A small, minimalist-style café that feels both elegant and relaxed. The stone walls paired with French bistro chairs give it a timeless charm. Food quality is good (not mind-blowing, but definitely tasty), and their drinks are both delicious and beautifully presented.
The only downside: on the terrace, tables are set very close together. If you’re a couple, expect to be seated right next to another couple. It’s a very French arrangement, but not great if you want privacy.
- Price: €18 small formule; €27 complete brunch
- Booking: Possible, but you can usually walk in
- Address: 34 Rue des Marchands, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Go inside if you want more intimacy.
Mamma Shelter
Famous for its rooftop and its over-the-top Sunday brunch. Expect variety: foie gras, smoked salmon, seafood, fruit, pastries, champagne — basically a buffet for every craving.
The quality isn’t the best on this list (I’d give it 8/10), but the sheer number of options makes up for it. It’s especially popular for special occasions like New Year’s brunch.
- Price: €42, Sundays only
- Booking: Yes, book in advance (you can also book a room here)
- Address: 54–56 Boulevard Lazare Carnot, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Come hungry. And don’t skip the rooftop views if the weather is nice.
L’Autre Salon de Thé

Yes, that’s really the name! A cosy English-style tea room with sofas, dainty tables, and cakes that look as good as they taste. Salty plates are simple — usually quiche with salad — but always fresh and satisfying.
The interior is big, but the terrace is small. It’s a great place if you want a relaxed tea-room atmosphere with a French twist.
- Price: €20 brunch on Sundays; à la carte the rest of the week
- Address: 45 Rue des Tourneurs, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Their cakes are the star here. Save room for dessert.
L’Autre Salon de Thé – L’Annexe

Same owners, second location. I actually like this one a bit more because the terrace is larger and more enjoyable, even if I prefer the interior of the first. Portions here feel generous, which is always welcome at brunch.
- Price: À la carte
- Address: 23 Place Saint-Georges, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Choose this one if you want to sit outside in summer.
Le Salon d’Eugénie
An elegant, French-English style tea room you’ll recognise by its blue-painted terrace. Inside it’s cosy, with plenty of charm, and the cakes are truly gorgeous (and tasty). They also offer gluten-free and vegan brunch options, which isn’t so common in Toulouse.
- Price: €25.90 for the brunch menu
- Address: 16 Rue des Lois, 31000 Toulouse
💡 Local note: Perfect if you want a classic tea-room vibe but need veggie or gluten-free choices.
Final Thoughts on Brunch in Toulouse
Brunch in Toulouse isn’t just a meal — it’s almost a local tradition. From English-inspired salons de thé like Bapz, to pink-themed cafés like La Ville Rose, to foodie favourites like La Fiancée by Saint-Sernin, there’s a spot for every mood.
If you only have time for one? I’d say queue at La Fiancée (Saint-Sernin), grab a terrace table in the sun, and enjoy the view of the basilica with your avocado toast. That’s Toulouse brunch at its best.
For me? My best choice are still my husbands’ pancakes!
